Imperial and Post Colonial Studies

Faculty in this research cluster engage with different, albeit overlapping dimensions of colonial, imperial, and post-colonial studies. Our research focuses on the art, architecture, landscapes, and music of Spanish and Portuguese colonies, the British and French empires, the formation of modern nation states like India, Mexico, and the United States, and the problematic transition to “post”-colonial politics and histories.
